Care Service Employees – Aged Care (permanent part time and casual)

An opportunity exists for experienced aged care workers and also for committed people seeking to start a career in aged care who have obtained a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Aged Care (preferably with the Assist with Medications Unit) to join our team.

You will need to demonstrate:

  1. a passion for caring for and supporting older people to maintain dignity and choice in their daily lives;
  2. the ability to provide and document the care and services provided;
  3. computer literacy;
  4. the ability to work shift work, including weekends and night shift on a shared rotating basis.

You will also require a current First Aid Certificate.

Team Leader/Enrolled Nurse – Aged Care (permanent)

Illawarra Diggers is an independent, not-for-profit organization that has been providing high quality care to the community of Wollongong for more than 70 years. We provide a friendly, caring and homely environment that seeks to enhance the quality of life of every resident.

An opportunity exists for an experienced aged care Team Leader who has obtained either an Enrolled Nurse or Certificate IV in Aged Care or equivalent (with Medications Competency) to join our team.

Reporting to the Care Manager, you will need to demonstrate:

  1. a passion for caring for and supporting older people to maintain dignity and choice in their daily lives;
  2. the ability to provide and document the care and services necessary;
  3. proven leadership and management of other care staff as well as liaising with families, health professionals and senior management;
  4. an understanding and working knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards;
  5. verbal, written and computer skills to a high standard.

Skills in ACFI reviews and assessments will be well regarded.

You will also require a current First Aid Certificate valid for at least 6 months at commencement.

Aged Care - Support Services - Kitchen - Aged Care (permanent part time or casual)

Support Services – Kitchen

Illawarra Diggers are currently seeking multiple applicants for Support Services positions, assisting in our kitchen, across a range of shifts in a fortnightly roster. Both permanent part-time and casual positions are available.

Essential

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Ability to work in a professional team environment
  • Sound communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts including weekends
  • Compassion & understanding of older people
  • First Aid Certificate

Desirable

  • Commercial cooking experience
  • Experience in residential aged care
