Care Service Employees – Aged Care (permanent part-time and casual)

An opportunity exists for experienced aged care workers and for committed people seeking a career in aged care who have obtained a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Aged Care (preferably with the Assist with Medications Unit) to join our team.

You will need to demonstrate:

  1. the ability to provide and document the care and services necessary to older people with a caring, skilled compassionate approach
  2. computer literacy
  3. the ability to work shift work, including weekends and night shift on a shared rotating basis.

You will also require a current First Aid Certificate.

Lifestyle Manager

Illawarra Diggers is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been providing high quality care to the community of Wollongong for more than 73 years. We provide a friendly, caring and homely environment that seeks to enhance the quality of life of every care recipient.

We are seeking an experienced Lifestyle Manager to join our Management Team.  Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the role is primarily focused on the design, development and evaluation of a lifestyle service which promotes and supports the social, recreational, cultural and spiritual wellbeing of all care recipients at Illawarra Diggers. This multidimensional role will suit a creative, inspirational leader with a personal commitment to consumer driven care and a strong focus on quality, compliance and service excellence.

You will have:

  1. A degree in Therapeutic Recreation (Diversional Therapy) or other relevant qualification;
  2. Previous experience designing, developing, implementing and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs in residential aged care facilities for both groups and individuals;
  3. An understanding of current aged care industry reform;
  4. A positive attitude with an ability to lead and supervise team members;
  5. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  6. High level computer literacy including the use of Microsoft Office suite;
  7. Experience in stakeholder engagement and management;
  8. A current First Aid Certificate.
